About Shop-Surplus

A marketplace for surplus steel that still has work to do.

Shop-Surplus connects fabrication shops that have excess steel with companies that can put that material back to work. We built the platform for the everyday reality of the steel industry: changing jobs, leftover material, yard constraints, freight coordination, and the need to move quickly without turning usable steel into scrap.

The idea is simple: when one shop has material sitting idle and another shop needs it, the process should be easier, safer, and more organized than phone calls, spreadsheets, and handshake deals.

Built for fabrication shops

Shop-Surplus is focused on professional steel users, not general classifieds. Listings, checkout, logistics, and order handling are designed around real material moving from one shop or yard to another.

Surplus should keep working

Good steel often sits idle after a project changes, a job closes out, or inventory gets overbought. Our goal is to help shops recover value from usable material and help buyers source steel faster.

Trust needs process

We use structured listings, escrow-backed payments, verification steps, and logistics workflows so buyers and sellers know what is happening at each stage of a transaction.

What we do

We help shops recover value and source material with less friction.

Sellers can organize and list surplus material with the details buyers need to evaluate it. Buyers can browse available inventory, compare material, understand freight context, and complete transactions through a structured marketplace flow.

Shop-Surplus does not own the material, act as a reseller, or replace the judgment of qualified steel professionals. We provide the marketplace infrastructure, payment workflow, and logistics coordination tools that help independent businesses transact with more clarity.
